Die kanadische Jazzlegende Oscar Peterson ist tot. Der Pianist starb im Alter von 82 Jahren in seinem Haus bei Toronto.

Oscar Emmanuel Peterson wurde am 15. August 1925 im kanadischen Montr�al geboren. Mit f�nf Jahren begann er Trompete zu spielen. Wegen einer Lungentuberkulose sattelte mit mit sechs Jahren auf das Klavier um.

Mit 14 gewann er bei CBC einen Amateurwettbewerb, wo er eine eigene Radiosendung bekam. Mit 17 wurde er Berufsmusiker. ...
