oops, we've moved.

Daft has recently been playing with a synth from

http://www.robpapen.com/synths/blue/

called BLUE

Its low on CPU and has banks of pads which rival the one finger ambient potentiol of spectrasonics Atmosphere.
As Atmosphere is a ROMpler with about 3Gb of samples, BLUE with its tiny, tiny, tiny soundbank does an excellent job by comparision.

Sooooounds neat.

Yeah, As Daft mentioned I've acquired a bunch of new samples. I used Ebay to find a good retailer, hardly had to pay over $10 for three dvd's of samples. Haven't played with them much yet, since I'm waiting for my other new toy to arrive. An M-Audio Torq Xponent. On the topic of VST's though, I have a few free ones that I use. Sinapsys is absolutly dripping with one called 'Glitch' by a group called 'dblue'... I think. I also like to throw in some 'Chorrosive' by 'Betabugs', its nothing really special. Its just a lot easier then concocting the corroded sound yourself.

Daft used it on a vocal part in NDE

Here's a list of some of my favorite free VSTs in no specific order:

  • Crystal
  • Oatmeal - You can find skins for it online. That makes it easier to work with.
  • Voyager
  • Helix
  • Genesis - Sorry can 't seem to find a working dl but for those of you in England you can get it on one of the computer music magazine dvds.
  • Synth1

Also check out http://www.ugoaudio.com and click the VST link to see them.
All the free ones are great and the pay ones are at a reasonable price.

Oh yeah! @Volk DB Glitch is also one of my fav's. Wink

Cheers!
